Well, this is easy, right? Just use a Raspberry Pi: Raspberry Pi Corporation.
But Which One?
I currently use both a Raspberry Pi4 and a Pi5 for prototyping. The Pi4 has been a stalwart for several years, while the Pi5 is new to the lab.
The Pi5 has some improvements that should improve sound reproduction. However, the Pi5 hardware needs more power on startup with the SSD drives I am using, which has resulted in issues with the power supplies I usually use. For now, I am using the factory supply.
The prototype I am using for listening is a Pi4 with an Allo Shanti linear power supply.
